Here are the details of my brother's & I catfishing trip of October 4th. 2012. This was the best trip we had on his boat EVER on the Ohio River near Cincinnati.

I met my brother at Fredrick’s Landing 07:30 and headed to the Ohio River. All our lines were in the water at the Mill Creek at 07:45. My brother hooked then first fish of the day at 08:05. He just had to hold on for it was a big catfish. Once we got it in the boat this was the biggest flathead he has caught in years. This fish weighed 21 pounds per his digital scale, but we both believed it was heavier than that.

My brother does not measure how long a fish is so no details on that at all. 08:25 I hooked a small sheep head perch of around 3 pounds. 08:40 a 3.8 pound channel cat hit my dead line, while I was getting it in my brother caught a 5 pound blue cat. 09:00 my brother nailed another nice fish that wore him out. This was a 21 pound Blue cat that hit the same suspended rod.

09:35 I got another channel cat this on was a little bigger 5 pounds. Once again my brother’s rod got buried; this monster showed 30 pounds on the scale, still think it was more than that. MY brother's 30 pound Bluecat biggest fish of the day and biggest Bluecat he ever caught out of the OHIO RIVER!! Cincinnati. Oct. 4th. 2012!!

10:00 I hooked a baby blue cat on my suspended rig. This guy was only about ľ of a pound. 10:10 another decent fish for my brother, this was a 13 pound blue cat.

Just then we spotted a Tow boat heading up river; sure enough he had to bring a barge right in where we were fishing. We moved out until he was done tying off the barge and left. Got back to our spot just as the wind shifted to a up river wind. With no current the wind got the boat turned sideways before we could get the back anchor out. That wind just had the boat rocking and just kept getting stronger. Lifted the anchors and tried to get out of the wind behind some barges down river.
We stayed for 30 minutes before giving up for the day and heading back to the ramp. All my brothers fish were caught on the same suspended rod, 3 of mine were on the dead line. We had many strong taps that cleaned off the bait. The only bait my brother uses from his boat is Skipjack, we had plenty of 3-4 inch size this trip This was the best trip we have had, my brother caught that many big catfish on 1 trip on the Ohio River. That up river wind just turned them off like a light switch!
